oh well…

Although it may be chic to wear pyjama style tops I have to admit that it is one of those style trends that I am hesitant about. I mean who isn’t right? It is one of those hit-or-miss kind of things. It can be very chic or it could look like you just rolled out of bed and said “oh well, this is what I’m wearing today…don’t feel like changing.” It is also one of those trends that if you want to try (and why not) you have to proceed with caution. Let’s be honest, you can’t just put on any pyjama-look top and walk out the door. As always, I have a budget to think about and it is challenging to find the right one for me. Here is the simplest of tops that can be worn over jeans or perhaps as below (my preference). Or this one worn the exact same way.

Shoes $120 Sam Edelman – colored pump if black top/black pump if colored top

Lipstick $72 Tom Ford – I like this brand but any deep red is great

Watch $135 Topshop – you get the idea

Bag is Michael Kors but any simple black bag would work

warmth…

I have to admit that one of the reasons I love shearling jackets is that they offer such warmth. Or at least they look like they do. They can be quite costly and frankly one of those transition pieces that in weather like ours (Toronto) can only be worn for a very short period. But that doesn’t stop me from searching for one that I can easily justify as a must-have piece in my wardrobe. This incredibly priced one from yoins is just too good to be true as is this oneAnd like I said, it isn’t like I’ll be wearing it in January so who cares if it doesn’t offer any real warmth. I just want to look good now.

black pants…

I personally think a classic pair of black pants are (should be) a staple in every woman’s wardrobe. Especially a great fitting pair like the ones pictured above recommended by Marliene Rentmeester by Taylor StitchThey are just the kind of tailored versatility I look for and at $138 USD they fall within my price range. Here are a couple more suggestions: Free People and Anthropologie

everywhere…

It’s obvious to all of us that off the shoulder is the summer 2016 trend. It actually is a good trend because really almost everyone can wear it. And, like most trends, by now it’s been around long enough that you can buy it for next to nothing. Above Leandra wears Rosie AssoulinEqually stunning is this one by Caroline Constas and this one by Tibi. I also love this at ASOS by Vero Moda and this one at PixieMarket
