My favourite streetstyle pics are the ones that show a little or a lot of imagination and individuality. Afterall, anyone can wear the current trend – whether or not it suits – and call it an outfit. And…if you’re in the right place at the right time you may even get your picture taken and then appear on all the trending street blogs. But, I love looking for the outfits that are put together with some whimsy. Why not wear frilly dresses with combat boots or sneakers…or jodhpurs instead of jeans..or a pink tulle skirt…or hike up your otherwise classic pencil skirt to mini-skirt proportions. The lesson here is why look like everyone else?

maroon mood…

I have always loved monochromatic looks. It is so easy to put together and is always an instant hit. Too often this applies to all black – but why not play with other colours… This season in particular maroon is a very hot colour. Here Arielle of gets it soooo right.

seventies flair…and flare

This fall season is a lot about the seventies. Its influence is everywhere. I am especially loving all the brown suede pieces. Although I do love the look of head-to-toe brown suede (flare et al) I am a little hesitant to wear it. I think I’ll look for a button down dress like this Rag & Bone from ShopBop or a suede trench like this FRAME duster at SAKS

juxta lace skirt…

I always get very excited when I see street pictures of seemingly everyday standard pieces worn just outside of the style box. I mean, why not wear a lace pencil skirt with flat shiny lace-ups and ankle socks? I love it!! Shop similar style skirts at Topshop or HouseofFraser
