spring trend…boots?

Boots may not seem like a spring-y thing to wear but the knee high leather variety are showing up on the streets everywhere. Fittingly when it’s freezing outside…thank you Louis Vuitton (spring 2015 runway)!!

Above-the-knee styles have been around for a while, however, this season’s boot is high heeled and knee-high. Not to be confused. And the trend here is to wear them with either a to-the-knee (or just below) skirt or dress. Soft flowing dresses or pencil skirts are perfect. These Via Spiga or Sergio Rossi or these at shoeme are all worth checking out.

the non mom lob (a.k.a. bob)…

After a couple years of growing out my very short pixie I cut it all off again. Yup. But oddly, although it’s pretty short again… it feels long. I went with the new cut that’s been dubbed lob or non-mom-bob. Yeah, so basically a short bob. I love it and think it is probably the best cut I’ve had in a long time. It’s long enough that I can still pin up and curl…but short enough that I don’t have to fuss with too much. I love it.

seeing red…

By the end of January I’ve usually had enough of winter. That’s when I look to brighten up my everyday grey and black with some colour. I’m seeing a lot of this red and am thrilled because red happens to be my favourite ‘pick-me-up’ colour. I’m especially excited about the cape style and faux fur reds!! This faux fur from Nasty Gal or this Outnet jacket are trendy and affordable – since we are talking about a trend. This cape style at Yoox is also on my list.

grey coat…

I love the look of classics. A simple grey coat belted with a skinny black belt. Twisted not tied. Add a neck scarf and punch it up with a hit of color in your handbag. What is more simple? Copy the look…acne studios coat unbuttoned, wrapped and belted.
